Immigration attorney pleaded guilty to scam.

The U.S. Attorney's office annouced that Sai Hyun Lee of Duluth filed false papers to help 17 undocumented aliens secure legal immigration stautus in federal court recently. Ms. Lee pleaded to a count of filing false documents with the U.S. department of labor. She could be sentenced up to ten years in prison and the maxium fine she could recieve is $250,000. Ms. Lee's sentencing is scheduled for Feburary 18, 2010.
Ms. Lee has agreed to turn over all the $100,000 that she had charged the 17 undocumented alien workers. Inspector general, Daniel Petrole for the DOL (Department of Labor) said that the evidence revealed that Ms. Lee was personally gaining income by deceiving the U.S. government. Allegedly, Ms. Lee charged an undocumented alien $25,000 to change their name on an approved labor certificate that was already given to an employer of another foreign worker. She then tried to apply for legal status for the undocumented alien using that certificate and doing the samething with 16 other undocumented aliens.

La Sra. Lee se ha comprometido a entregar a todos los 100.000 dólares que ella había acusado a los 17 trabajadores extranjeros indocumentados. Al parecer, la Sra. Lee cobra un extranjero indocumentado 25.000 dólares a cambio de su nombre en un certificado de trabajo aprobado que había sido entregado a un empresario de otro trabajador extranjero. Luego trató de aplicar para estado legal de los extranjeros indocumentados, partiendo de ese certificado, y haciendo el samething con 16 otros extranjeros indocumentados.
