Employment Visa fee increase may not fly.

The Indian government has announced that the visa fee hike to applications that was currently signed into law by President Obama violates World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. Earlier in the week, the United States Department of State started looking over if a law that raises some visa fees is valid with WTO rules. This action comes because of heated objection of the law from outsourcers and the Indian government. India's Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar declared that the visa fee increase is not compatible with the WTO. Philip J. Crowley, assistant secretary in the United States Department of State, announced that the United States is communicating with Indian officials about the law and its ramifications. The entire expense to all Indian outsourcers from the new law could reach as high as $250 million a year. That is not a huge expense for Indian outsourcers to take on when you realize that their revenue exceeds into billions of American dollars.
