Victories

Lucky number 7 comes up for Arizona.

The lawsuits just keep rolling in on Arizona's new immigration law and here comes number seven. This lawsuit goes after the training material that supposedly trains the law enforcement officers on how to detect an undocumented immigrants. They go on to say the language in the material is not clearly defined and poorly written factors on how to make a judgement call on determining someone's immigration status. Race should not be a deciding factor for reasonable suspicion of any person. The lawsuit was filed last Friday and points out that the training material relys on such things as if a person can speak English well, looks anxious or is in a jam-packed vehicle. It goes on to say that police officers should also take note if the person has on a lot of clothes out of season or if they are in a known place where undocumented immigrant may hang out. This law reeks of bigotry and racism and the lawsuit charges that it can only encourage racial profiling.
