Myths about the Southwest border security.

With all the rhetoric about our borders not being secure it would do us all well to look at the real facts. The assistant chief of the El Paso border patrol Ronald LeBlanc says nothing could be farther from the truth. He remembers back on July 4, 1993 when a raid was conducted which apprehended 1,400 undocumented immigrants at the El Paseo International Airport alone. Today the average is only 35 undocumented immigrants a day in an area that spans from all of New Mexico and two West Texas counties. In fact apprehensions in the Southwest border have been on a steady decline since 2005 according to federal authorities. And across the whole Southwest border which is from California to Texas apprehensions are down almost 55% from 2005. The real fact is our borders are more secure then at any other time in our history, regardless of what others would lead the general public to believe. It appears the facts clouds some peoples beliefs.
