Have Passport will travel...to Arizona?

Senator Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. is looking for answers from the Justice Department into how the controversial new Arizona immigration law will affect New Mexico citizens. It appears since New Mexico gives undocumented immigrants driver's licenses, anyone visiting Arizona would have to carry a passport or be subject to arrest if detained if you did not have proper documentation other then a driver's licence. At the very least it is possible you could be detained longer by police if you only has a New Mexico driver's licence as proof of citizenship and the officer is aware of New Mexico's policy on issuing driver licences. The Justice Department is still looking over Sen. Bingaman's request letter said a spokesperson for the Agency. In the meantime, the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund and other Pro-immigration groups have filed a class action lawsuit claiming the law is unconstitional. One thing is for sure, if this law stands unopposed all New Mexicans will be seen as "guilty" of being an undocumented immigrant if you only have a New Mexico driver's licence and no other citizenship documentation if stopped by law enforcement in Arizona.

Tener pasaporte viajará a Arizona ...?
