President wants immigration system fixed.

The National Association of Latinos held their annual conference, this is a nonpartisan group that serves over six thousand political leaders. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano attend the conference and told the group that she holds Congress responsible for neglecting to fix our broken immigration system. She tried to comfort Hispanic political leaders yesterday that President Obama is still committed to fixing the nation's immigration system and he is dedicated to bringing comprehensive immigration reform. This was followed up by a roar of cheers and applause from the group. She went on to say that some types of reform takes time and that everyone needs to be patient. Ms.Napolitano gave no specifics of how a new immigration system would function, but she commented that it would take a huge effort and cooperation from both parties. Earlier this week the Obama administration reassured the country that he is committed to tougher enforcement on the United States and Mexico border while formulating a bill. President Obama requested from Congress an additional $600 million in emergency funds to increase Border officers to 1,000 more agents.
