Victories

U.S. Government fighting Arizona immigration law.

It is apparent that the United States Justice Department is preparing to fight over a controversial Arizona immigration law according from the Obama administration. The announcement was brought to light after Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton mentioned the upcoming lawsuit. It is undetermined if this was done in error while conducting an interview with an Ecuadorian television station in the beginning of this month. Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer called the Secretary of States comments "outrageous." She went on to say that if the federal government plans to challenge Arizon's new immigration law in hope's to stop undocumented immigration it would be nice to be told before another country is told of it. Arizona's new immigration law is the roughest in the United States regarding undocumented immigrants. This law demands law enforcement to ask questions from people suspected about their immigration status during routine stops. Pro-immigration advocates and civil rights groups charge this could lead to racial profiling.
