AILA

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) was gratified by President Obama's statement that he is still committed to comprehensive immigration reform. The President remains dedicated, and he will continue with overhauling the immigration system this year if he can gain essential Republican backing. After engaging with Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, and Senator Lindsey Graham Republican of South Carolina recently, President Obama announced that he will carry on to champion the fight for a proposal to fix our broken immigration system. Bernie Wolfsdorf, President of AILA was happy to hear that President Obama is totally committed to pass immigration reform. As our current United States immigration exists now, the immigration crisis greatly weakens our national stake by curbing economic development, thwarting family reuniting, and changing foreign policy mission. Pro-immigration advocates and AILA is keeping its fingers crossed that these talks are just the first to a revitalize bipartisan undertaking and priority on solving the United States broken immigration system. We all understand that there are other issues that our country's lawmakers are presently encountering such the healthcare issue. To have comprehensive immigration reform advance the President and Lawmakers have to come up with a real defined policy that the public can embrace.

AILA
