President Obama says the time is now to fix the broken immigration system.
At a White House event the President announced that the time is now to fix the broken immigration system this year. The President assured the group that getting a bill passed will be hard but very possible. He was talking to a group celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the Rose Garden and he went on to say that this countrys' diversity is also it's strength. This is why the President has denounced Arizona's new immigration law. This law brings up apprehensions regarding racial profiling. The President commented that we as a country can not start discriminating against a group of people because of their appearence, as the group gave him a round of applause. This is why we have to slam the door on this type of behavior by taking charge of our responsibilities here in the Nations Capital. President Obama had gotten some flak recently because of comments about he was not sure immigration reform could happen this year. Let's hope this time is different.

En un evento de la Casa Blanca, el Presidente anunció que ha llegado el momento para arreglar el sistema roto de inmigración este año. El Presidente aseguró al grupo que conseguir un proyecto de ley aprobado será difícil pero muy posible. Estaba hablando con un grupo de celebración del Cinco de Mayo en el Rose Garden y él continuó diciendo que esta diversidad countrys 'es también su fortaleza. Por ello, el Presidente ha denunciado nueva ley de inmigración de Arizona. Esta ley plantea temores sobre la discriminación racial. El Presidente comentó que nosotros como país no se puede iniciar la discriminación contra un grupo de personas debido a su apariencia, ya que el grupo le dio una ronda de aplausos. Por eso tenemos que cerrar la puerta a este tipo de comportamiento por hacernos cargo de nuestras responsabilidades aquí en la Capital de las Naciones. El presidente Obama había recibido algunas antibalas recientemente por los comentarios acerca de él no estaba seguro de una reforma migratoria que podría suceder este año. Esperemos que esta vez es diferente.
