Victories

Susana Martinez the new Governor-elect.

Well, New Mexicans have spoken and they appear to be looking for the state to go in a new direction. In reality this election year was really no different from other elections coming out of the Republican party. They went with their tried and true approach of strike fear and hatred in to the debates, and the topic this cycle was all about immigration and illegals crossing into our borders. Ms. Martinez talks a mean game about cracking down on crime and drugs that are coming across the borders, which is all well and good. And her solution to this problem is simple she says, 1. She wants to cutout any undocumented immigrants from getting a lottery scholarship and 2. she wants to do away with the safety program where everyone in the state has to get a New Mexico driver's license regardless of their immigration status. Neither of these two measures will have any effect on drug dealers or their cartels setting up shop in New Mexico. But in fairness to her and her administration we at Kretz & Romero, as I am sure the whole state wishes her well in doing what is best for the entire state of New Mexico and everyone living here. Let us hope she will be a positive role model for both women and Hispanics these next for years.
