Brewer asks Appeals court to overturn ruling.

Arizona Govenor Jan Brewer wants her attorneys to file a brief to appeal the ruling that put a stop to the majority of the controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law. Ms. Brewer is hoping that the 9th United States Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco will see things her way and reverse United States District Judge Susan Bolton descision in July. In a bizarre twist, Brewers office is trying to claim that Judge Bolton abused her power by incorrectly applying legal standards and deciding her ruling on damages that the federal government may or may not incur because of Arizona's law. The United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Arizona to render Arizona's new immigration law null and void. Judge Bolton put a hold on parts of the law that makes immigrants have to get or always have on their person immigration documents. It also makes law enforcement officers ask about people's immigration status during routine stop's if they feel there is reasonable doubt of someones immigration status.
