After Arizona signed into law the toughest immigration law on the books a handful of states figured they would follow suit. Now with Arizona's immigration law put on hold from a federal judge and no end in sight for a resolution other states are not so sure about this approach.Not to mention the onslaught of lawsuits and the cost to the state that goes along with the lawsuits, the majority of states are rethinking their position on the immigration issue. Utah was one such state that thought they would jump on the Arizona immigration band wagon. But now it appears they are taking a new approach to undocumented immigrants in their state. Utah bureaucrats are looking at procedures to integrate undocumented laborers in Utah and penalize anyone entering the state who is not documented in the future. Utah's governor, Gary R. Herbert (R), has made it known he wants tougher immigration law is his state but conceded that people and companies boycotting his state like what is happening in Arizona is a defiente threat that must be taken into concideration. Herbert continued by remarking that everyone has a stake in this issue and a conclusion to this issue needs to be found that the majority of the people can live with.
