President grabbing the reins on immigration reform.
Yesterday, the President called among the likes of the former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other leading mayors and law enforcement in the United States. He is trying to jump start support for the nation to embrace that now is the time to begin overhauling this countries broken immigration system. All the people that were invited to the meeting, which was very bipartisan brought their thoughts and opinions on how to fix our current immigration system. The President has commented that it is about time our Immigration system gets up to speed for the 21st century. In true leadership the Obama administration announced that all religious and company business leaders had been invited to the meeting, along with current and past political figures and all party lines. Obama has taken flake from the Hispanic community for not making good on his promise of getting an immigration reform package passed in his first year in office. Also, the President has had a record number of deportations to the number of almost 400,000 even thought the Republicans say this is not enough and comment that he is weak on immigration enforcement.
