Part 1... Birthright Citizenship 101

A little brief history on Birthright Citizenship. Citizenship in the United States is under the jurisdiction of federal law and is governed by the United States constitution, which is covered by our Fourteenth Amendment to the constitution. It was enacted after the Civil War with the abolishment of slavery on July 9, 1868, and that citizenship of persons born in the United States is controlled by its Citizenship Clause, which states:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

There has been talk in Congress to try and repeal birthright citizenship which always seems to get attention from the right wingers when things are not going so good for them. It is just another way for them to either take the heat off real issues or to try and help them gain supports back. And as always there are the staunch group of people who are always trying to get this amendment repealed. With the upcoming presidential election some candidates and legislators need a rallying cry for their platform to either gain attention to themselves or once again supporters. The real question here is whether amending the 14th Amendment is even do-able? That tomorrow...

Parte 1 ... Derecho de nacimiento 101 Ciudadanía

Un poco de historia breve de la ciudadanía por nacimiento. La ciudadanía en los Estados Unidos está bajo la jurisdicción de la ley federal y se rige por la Constitución de Estados Unidos, que está cubierto por nuestra Decimocuarta Enmienda de la Constitución. Y como siempre hay el grupo de incondicionales de las personas que siempre están tratando de conseguir esta modificación derogado. Con las próximas elecciones presidenciales de algunos candidatos y los legisladores necesitan un grito de guerra para su plataforma para obtener ya sea la atención a sí mismos oa los partidarios de una vez. La verdadera pregunta aquí es si se modifica la Enmienda 14 es aún capaz de hacerlo-? Que mañana ...
