Real Courage Knows No Borders.

Antonio Diaz Chacon the young man who took it upon himself to go after a man that abducted a 6-year-old girl from certain harm if not even certain death was honored last week from Albuquerque Major Richard Berry (R) even though Berry knew of Mr. Chacon's undocumented immigration status. Even with this fact made public by Mr. Chacon himself, he has made a name for himself with his heroism and maybe more importantly his courage. I am not just speaking of his bravery to go after the man who abducted the little girl, which we would all like to think we would have done the same thing if that horrible situation faced us. But I dare say some of us would have just look the other way or pretend we didn't see anything. Let's face it Mr. Chacon did not know what he would be getting into when he gave chase of this man, the man could have been a hardened criminal with a gun but yet Mr. Chacon still pursued him. This was no small feat of real courage but maybe even more courageous was he still did this with no regard to himself or that his immigration status might be revealed later. This is the type of courage that America was built on. Governor Susana Martinez's (R-NM) commented that her stance on her immigration views were unchanged. What a sad comment coming from Ms. Martinez as she is a descendant of undocumented "illegal" immigrants. She could take a lesson from her great grandparents and this young man of what real courage is.
