With so much talk about deporting all the undocumented immigrants out of the Untied States, do you ever think about how much it costs to deport an undocumented immigrant?
Well the figure is now out from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from deputy director Kumar Kibble and the cost is: $12,500. Now that is a basic figure that includes expenses for arresting, detaining and deporting one person out of the United States which was projected from ICE. The deputy director delivered the price of deporting undocumented immigrants last week during one of the first hearing of an immigration subcommittee under Republican control. Department of Homeland Security believes that approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants are now in America. Now it does not take a rocket scientist to do this simple math and the cost of removing every undocumented immigrant would be $137 billion. This figure is right inline with a figure that was reported last month as well. Republicans contend that the Obama administration is soft on undocumented immigration which can not be anything farther from the truth with this administrations record number of deportations up from previous administrations.
