Republicans vow to take away Birthright Citizenship.

Yesterday, Republicans began their assault on trying to end Birthright Citizenship to children that are born in the United States to parents that are undocumented immigrants. This immediately sparked pro immigration groups to denounce this action as unrealalistic and hate motivated. Legislators from Arizona, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Georgia revealed their plan in hopes to gain as many as 40 states to revoke birthright citizenship to kids of undocumented immigrants, which the 14th Amendment protects this right in the United States Constitution. What the Republicans are introducing as legislation would demand that every birth certificate show the citizenship or immigration status of the childs parents, which it would also need to show if the parents are in the country legally or illegally. The purpose of this legislation is to try and force the United States Supreme Court or Congress to make a ruling on the validity of the 14th Amendment. All other attempts by states trying to enforce immigration laws have been defeated by the federal  government on the grounds that the federal government has supreme authority over immigration matters. Basically what the GOP is asking for is that a government official be present in every birthing center in the country to determine who the parents of the child are and then also determine if they are legally in the country. Take about putting families, citizens and every hospital in the country into sheer turmoil. The GOP talks a mean game about reducing big government but they walk a completely different walk with their actions.
