Some Republicans want to change 14th Amendment.

With Representative Steve King (R) introducing a bill called, H.R. 140, in the United States House of Representatives at the end of business on Wednesday, which is looking to strip constitutional rights of citizenship encompassed in the 14th Amendment. Which I might add has a very entrenched Supreme Court precedent in this matter. It is also very ironic that on the day this legislation was introduced members of the 112th Congress had just went to the House floor to recite the United States Constitution in its entirety, which also included the 14th Amendment, confirming their public pledge to serve, protect and defend the Constitution. Since the creation of our Constitution it has assured United States citizenship to every baby born in the United States, with very few exemptions. Birthright citizenship is America’s assurance to civil rights, tolerance and fair play under the law. This disgraceful bill wants to take away these rights by revising the citizenship clause to only allow citizenship to 3 categories of people. 1) Offspring of United States citizens or nationals. 2) Offspring of permanent residents. 3) Offspring of non-citizens in active-duty military service. This subversive scheme would renounce citizenship to a big portion of United States society containing United States born babies of parents which have legal standing. Some in this category are foreign investors, scientists, engineers, refugees, artists, athletes, scholars and graduate students to name a few. This proposed Bill desecrates the constitutional rights of anyone that is born in the United States and who are under its jurisdiction. This is still America, where everyone's rights are established by fairness and equal treatment under the law. It should not be determined by who your parents are, what they may or may not have done, or if current politicians accept them.

Hello, I felt compelled to send a letter in the mail and share my experience with Kretz & Romero for anyone looking for a good immigration law firm. I found Kretz & Romero strictly by the internet, when I did a Google search for an immigration attorney in the Roswell area. I was rather impressed by their dominance in the search engines and I was compelled to give them a call especially after reading their testimonial section of their website. I have only been a client of theirs since March of 2011 but have already seen great results after they processed my filing so rapidly. Another big plus for me was being able to be in contact with my attorney (Cathy) if a question came up, that was very important to me. I also really like that the entire staff and attorneys are fluent in Spanish and English. I had heard that the attorneys at Kretz and Romero were great on numerous occasions. I was in need of getting my green card and after talking to family and friends they had also mentioned that they thought I should go see Kretz & Romero to help me to get my green card. Then I saw them on TV and decided to give them a call. After talking to one of the attorneys I felt very comfortable hiring them to help me get my green card. All the staff at Kretz and Romero are very nice and they always answer the phone and answered all my questions. I now have my green card so I'm able to work now. I think if I chose any other immigration attorney my process would have been slower and I wouldn't have my green card already. I have been a client of Kretz & Romero Law P.C. for about four months. My husband got picked up by ICE in September 2012. I didn't want him to get deported because he had been deported before. I think I called about every immigration attorney I could possibly call and they all told me that they could not help me. Several people told me to call Kretz & Romero. I called and made an appointment with Kretz & Romero and also had another appointment that afternoon with a different immigration attorney that was also referred to me.
