Companies standing up against GOP's E-verify Proposal.
Many Company executives in different states are starting to banned together to fight the recent E-verify proposal the Republicans are trying to push in the House and will hopeful stop it. Of course we all know the main kingpin of this bill is House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, R-Texas. Companies in Florida are frantic over this insane bill which would make businesses have to verify their workers' immigration status. They are in fear that this action will cripple their tourism and farming industries. They have much to fear, a good example of this is in the farming industry which has started to tank in parts of Georgia after their new immigration law was about to go into effect before it was halted in the federal courts. This was due to many legal and undocumented immigrants leaving the state in fear of reprisals of this new immigration law. Many Florida industry analysts can not believe the Republicans do not have a clue about the ramifications of this bill and that Florida relies heavily on migrant workers. They went on to say that this will all but destroy their economy which has already over 11 % unemployment. Instead companies are calling for a guest worker program that will help states such as Florida not be crippled by what the GOP is currently purposing in the House.
