Victories

Other Nations looking to help fight Utah Immigration Law.

With over a twelve Latin American nations who have submitted legal summaries in federal court disputing Utah’s enforcement-only immigration legislation it is just a sign of the injustice of these types of laws that other countries feel the need to step in. They claim it will disintegrate international liaisons, they also went on to implore the judge to agree with them and find it unconstitutional. Yesterday, the Utah Attorney General’s Office requested and was allowed a 30-day extension were they have time to counter the lawsuit. The lawsuit was submitted by a handful of plaintiffs by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the National Immigration Law Center. The brief which is called a "friend-of-the-court brief" was submitted in the beginning of June and contends that HB497 to a large extent hinders and wrongly obstructs the uniform sovereign-to-sovereign relations that the United States and Mexico now enjoy. The brief went on to say that meddling with the critical diplomatic commitment of Untied States and Mexico only encourages an impending danger of state-endorsed bigotry and hatred.
