Situation in Georgia becoming Serious over New Immigration Law.

As you may recall we blogged about Georgia's new immigration law which is screwing up the agriculture industry. Laborers which a lot of them are migrant workers from Central America, had saturate the onion fields just a few weeks ago to gather the newest onion produce. But now many of Georgia's farmers are scared of the new immigration law that wants to single out undocumented immigrants. Many farmers are already seeing the effects of the shortage, they are seeing it is costing them to lose legal workers as well. It appears this bigoted law has scared everyone whether they are legal citizens or undocumented, immigrants are leaving even before the July 1 deadline. Farmers who plant onion's are hurt even harder because their produce has to be planted and harvested because machinery just can't do it and that means this industry relies almost entirely on migrant workers. The real issue here is that the federal government needs to take action on our broken immigration system. It is rather easy for some one behind a desk and with little knowledge of the subject matter to make decisions on what needs to be done or fixed but reality is much different from hatred or bigoted theory.
