Victories

Companies in Arizona fight back.

Around 60 Heads of the top Arizona companies put their John Hancock's on a letter to legislators pleading them to halt trying to push the hard anti-undocumented immigrant laws in their state. Angela Kelley, who is an immigration expert with the Center for American Progress, has figured out a number for the total repercussions from Arizona’s SB 1070 controversial immigration law which has damaged Arizona companies. It comes to the tune of over approximately $200 million in lost monies in the convention and conference businesses. This does not even take into account the other factors of lost taxes, jobs and revenue. And with the controversial immigration bill that was signed into law not even going in to effect because it got thrown into the federal courts because of the most controversial parts of it makes it a very costly blunder for Arizonians. Another big blunder was that businesses did not fight against Arizona's harsh immigration law. But they did when legislators tried to pass legislation to deny birthright citizenship, which was denied mainly because businesses got involved and help to get it defeated. Businesses have had enough and are committed to doing the right thing for everyone and is determined to get Arizona's immigration law defeated for the benefit of Arizonians.
