Victories

1 in 2 New Yorkers worry about hate crimes.

A recent poll in New York which shows that immigrants believe they will be assaulted because of their race or ethnicity. This is a shocking number and considering the poll which was original meant to find views on immigration, this is a rather disturbing finding. The poll which was conducted by Baruch College was just shocked by these finding and it was something that they did not expect to discover. The poll which lasted from April to May of this year was conducted on a little over 1,200 New Yorkers of all different nationalities, income levels and life experiences. On the top of the list as being most fearful was Hispanics coming in at a little over 60% admitting they worry about a hate crime, with over 40% saying it is a huge worry. Next was African-Americans at just under 60 %. A huge number of immigrants that speak Spanish admitted it weighs on their mind.
