President making more efforts towards Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
With lawmakers in states that have anti-immigration views and that are trying to mandate their own policies on the issue of undocumented immigration, it is time to say enough is enough. President Barack Obama has begun a campaign for a natural solution that many people of both sides of the aisle have looked for on this issue. The President has so far had 3 meetings at the White House in regards to Comprehensive Immigration Reform in about the same amount of weeks. Obama is slated to be in Texas at El Paso, a border town to talk about undocumented immigrants. He will be speaking today about the fate of the 11 million undocumented immigrants that are residing in the United States right now, an estimated 11 million. The Hispanic and Latino communities have shown their displeasure with Obama over his failed promise to get a Comprehensive package passed in his first year of office. And even after his efforts to help get the DREAM Act passed late last year that died in the Senate by the Republican opposition to it, his relations with these communities has been strained. And while any legislation that has to do with undocumented immigrants will surely be opposed by the Republicans. Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX), who heads up the House Judiciary Committee, has accused the President of just playing politics on the issue of undocumented immigration and he says Obama is not tough enough on immigration. Obviously Smith does not have a clue on reality because Obama has had a very tough record on deportations. Can you imagine what would happen if the Republicans win back the White House in 2012?

Con los legisladores en los estados que tienen puntos de vista anti-inmigración y que están tratando con el mandato de sus propias políticas sobre la cuestión de la inmigración indocumentada, es hora de decir basta. El presidente Barack Obama ha comenzado una campaña para una solución natural que muchas personas de ambos lados del pasillo han buscado en este tema. El Presidente ha tenido hasta ahora tres reuniones en la Casa Blanca en lo que respecta a una Reforma Migratoria Integral en la misma cantidad de semanas. Obama está programado para estar en Texas en El Paso, una ciudad fronteriza para hablar sobre los inmigrantes indocumentados. Él hablará hoy sobre el destino de los 11 millones de inmigrantes indocumentados que residen en los Estados Unidos en este momento, se estima que 11 millones. Las comunidades hispanas y latinas han mostrado su descontento con Obama sobre su promesa de no conseguir un paquete integral aprobada en su primer año de mandato. E incluso después de sus esfuerzos para ayudar a que la Ley DREAM pasó a fines del año pasado que murió en el Senado por la oposición republicana a la misma, sus relaciones con estas comunidades ha sido tensas. Representante Lamar Smith (R-TX), que encabeza el Comité Judicial de la Cámara, ha acusado al presidente de sólo jugar a la política sobre la cuestión de la inmigración indocumentada y dice que Obama no es lo suficientemente fuerte en materia de inmigración. Es evidente que Smith no tiene ni idea de la realidad porque Obama ha tenido un récord muy difícil de deportaciones. ¿Puede usted imaginarse lo que sucedería si los republicanos recuperar la Casa Blanca en 2012?
