President sets the record straight in El Paso.
In an apparent attempt to win back possible Hispanic and Latino voters, President Barack Obama spoke yesterday in El Paso, Texas. He concentrated his speech on Comprehensive Immigration Reform and proclaimed that the border has never been more secure. The President also used the opportunity to make fun of Republican legislators who have hampered any attempts that the Democrats have put together to get some immigration reform legislation passed. He went on to say that Republican's would not be happy even if they asked for a moat with alligators in it and got it along the border. The President continued to say that they will never be happy. It is very clear that the GOP is part of the problem and not part of the solution when it comes to our broken immigration system. Obama made it crystal clear to the crowd and the country of this fact, it is uncontestable. And with Republicans now holding the majority in the House and more power in the Senate then in 2008 they will be held responsible for not help fixing our broken immigration system with American citizens. Also, Senate Democrats plan on reintroducing the DREAM Act bill today while their fellow Democrats will do the same in the House. Although it is unlikely anything will come of it, it will show who is on the side of immigrants and who is not for the upcoming election in 2012.

Presidente pone las cosas en El Paso.
En un aparente intento de recuperar posibles votantes hispanos y latinos, el presidente Barack Obama habló ayer en El Paso, Texas. Se concentró su discurso en la Reforma Integral de Inmigración y proclamó que la frontera nunca ha sido más seguro. El Presidente también aprovechó la oportunidad para burlarse de los legisladores republicanos que han impedido cualquier intento de que los demócratas han puesto juntos para obtener algún tipo de legislación aprobada una reforma migratoria. Él continuó diciendo que los republicanos no sería feliz aunque pidió un foso con cocodrilos en él y lo consiguió a lo largo de la frontera. El Presidente continuó diciendo que nunca será feliz. Es muy claro que el Partido Republicano es parte del problema y no parte de la solución cuando se trata de nuestro sistema roto de inmigración. Obama lo dejó muy claro a la gente y el país de este hecho, es incontestable. Y ahora con los republicanos tienen la mayoría en la Cámara y más poder en el Senado luego en 2008 se hará responsable por no ayudar a arreglar nuestro sistema roto de inmigración con los ciudadanos estadounidenses. Además, el Senado plan de los demócratas en la reintroducción del proyecto de ley DREAM Act hoy, mientras que sus compañeros demócratas harán lo mismo en la Cámara. Aunque es poco probable que nada saldrá de ello, se mostrará que está en el lado de los inmigrantes y que no es para las próximas elecciones en 2012.
