Department Of Justice Sends Message To Alabama Schools About Immigration Law.

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) sent out a letter yesterday to every school district in Alabama to remind them that they still have to give equal access to public education to every child no matter what their immigration status is currently. The letter, which was written by Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez was issued because of the ramifications of the state's racist immigration law, HB 56. This law is meant to stop or discourage student from going to school, or attempt to keep out, kids that are of school-age- from going to public schools, because of their parents race, national origin, or real or thought to be immigration status. This could lead to a violation of the federal law which strictly prohibits discrimination against public school students on the basis of race, color or national origin. Because of this, the DOJ is requiring each district to supply a list of all enrolled students with the amount of students and percentage of students who have been taken out of school for the current academic year along with their race, national origin and English Language Learner (ELL) status. The DOJ has given the districts until November 14 to comply with this request.

Hello, I felt compelled to send a letter in the mail and share my experience with Kretz & Romero for anyone looking for a good immigration law firm. I found Kretz & Romero strictly by the internet, when I did a Google search for an immigration attorney in the Roswell area. I was rather impressed by their dominance in the search engines and I was compelled to give them a call especially after reading their testimonial section of their website. I have only been a client of theirs since March of 2011 but have already seen great results after they processed my filing so rapidly. Another big plus for me was being able to be in contact with my attorney (Cathy) if a question came up, that was very important to me. I also really like that the entire staff and attorneys are fluent in Spanish and English. I had heard that the attorneys at Kretz and Romero were great on numerous occasions. I was in need of getting my green card and after talking to family and friends they had also mentioned that they thought I should go see Kretz & Romero to help me to get my green card. Then I saw them on TV and decided to give them a call. After talking to one of the attorneys I felt very comfortable hiring them to help me get my green card. All the staff at Kretz and Romero are very nice and they always answer the phone and answered all my questions. I now have my green card so I'm able to work now. I have been a client of Kretz & Romero Law P.C. for about four months. My husband got picked up by ICE in September 2012. I didn't want him to get deported because he had been deported before. I think I called about every immigration attorney I could possibly call and they all told me that they could not help me. Several people told me to call Kretz & Romero.
