Knocking Down Myths About Immigration.

Professor Leo Chavez, a highly regarded anthropologist at Stanford University with a PhD who is an alumni and has worked for over 30 years on this subject has published some findings. The majority of Mr. Chavez work has been around the transnational migration of undocumented immigrants in a couple counties in California . He has also wrote numerous books on the subject of undocumented Latino immigrants. Mr. Chavez's latest book is “The Latino Threat: Constructing Immigrants, Citizens and the Nation,” Professor Chavez is very well versed on bigotry and the negative press about being Latino in the United States. Mr. Chavez's has tried to set the record straight with the misconceptions about the abuses that undocumented immigrants have on our society. His most recent study has shown the true facts about how undocumented immigrants do NOT overuse health services because they may not have health insurance. He found that undocumented Latinos made less trip to doctors offices and emergency rooms then legal immigrants and United State citizens. The study went on to show that it was determined that undocumented Latinos typically go to clinic-based care when they go looking for medical help.
