Victories

Part 1...Our Broken Immigration System.

Many anti-immigrants advocates continue their tired old rhetoric of "We do not need any new laws in regards to immigration, we just need to enforce the laws we have on the books now." Well I really do not know what is so hard to understand about the "laws" that are on the books are not working (unless they just really don't want to understand it) but for those who truly are seeking to understand this issue let's see if we can not help shed some light on this topic. It is estimated that for the first three quarters of this year that around 50% of new criminal charges are of illegal re-entry into the United States. This is becoming known as "crimmigration" by immigration lawyers, this mixture of criminal law with immigration law. These types of immigration issues use to be handles by civil laws or administrative avenues. Now the real question is whether trying to go after every person who has entered into the country illegally is really worth going after and clogging our already clogged court systems while letting murders, rapist, child molesters etc. remain at large because law enforcement just does not have the man power to handle this situation. Tomorrow we will look at if criminal statutes are a real deterrent or just wastefulness.

Parte 1 ...
