Nebraska Governor Defies DREAM Act Policy

Just a mere couple days after Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R) declared Arizona would not follow Obama's driver’s license mandate a long with other state benefits to the “deferred action” immigration policy for new immigrants and other state followed suit. Now Nebraska too is balking on the federal mandate as well. Nebraska's Governor Dave Heineman (R) announced this weekend (Saturday) that Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program does not make successful applicants “legal citizens.” What he meant by this was that they will not be allowed state benefits like driver’s licenses and other services. The recent deferred action plan, which took effect last week, could allow possibly up to 1.5 million undocumented immigrants to be eligible for “deferred action” status. What this means is, that these young undocumented immigrants who were brought into this country by no fault of their own would be eligible to get a work permit and driver’s licenses. Applicants cannot be over 31 years old, have come into the United States before the age of 16, and have no serious crime violations on their record. Jan Brewer is now being compared to "George Wallace in a skirt," The real question from her is what's next? Will she personally block qualified recipients of this deferred action from entering the Motor Vehicle office?" As you may recall George Wallace is the late Alabama governor who made his racist “stand in the schoolhouse door” at the University of Alabama to block African-American students from entering. Wallace is also known for his “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever,” during his inauguration.

Hello, I felt compelled to send a letter in the mail and share my experience with Kretz & Romero for anyone looking for a good immigration law firm. I found Kretz & Romero strictly by the internet, when I did a Google search for an immigration attorney in the Roswell area. I was rather impressed by their dominance in the search engines and I was compelled to give them a call especially after reading their testimonial section of their website. I have only been a client of theirs since March of 2011 but have already seen great results after they processed my filing so rapidly. I had heard that the attorneys at Kretz and Romero were great on numerous occasions. I was in need of getting my green card and after talking to family and friends they had also mentioned that they thought I should go see Kretz & Romero to help me to get my green card. Then I saw them on TV and decided to give them a call. After talking to one of the attorneys I felt very comfortable hiring them to help me get my green card. I have been a client of Kretz & Romero Law P.C. for about four months. My husband got picked up by ICE in September 2012. I didn't want him to get deported because he had been deported before. I think I called about every immigration attorney I could possibly call and they all told me that they could not help me. Several people told me to call Kretz & Romero.
