Obama's Deferred Action Program Beginning to Help Young Undocumented Immigrants

Just a mere 30 days ago, Gabriela Tepe had nearly given up all hope. The 21 year old Oklahoma State University student was told by an immigration appeals court that she and her 20 year-old brother, Angel, would have to leave the United States by July 3 or be put into deportation proceedings. The brother and sister, who have only known Oklahoma City as home since they were 4 and 2 years old, were looking at the real possibility that they would be celebrating the Fourth of July in Guatemala, a country they have no recollection or ties to them. Then on June 15, Gabriela saw on President Barack Obama on TV holding a press conference, announcing that his administration would stop deporting undocumented immigrants with these stipulations. Undocumented immigrant must be under the age of 30, who were brought into the United States as children and have graduated from high school while committing no serious crimes. "They are Americans in their hearts, in their minds, in every single way but one—on paper," Obama said then, adding that this class of immigrants had no control over their guardians' decision to bring them to the country illegally. Now all Mitt Romney has done is criticize the president's enormous immigration decision and calls the deferred action plan, as just a political stunt. Romney like many in his party want even more harsher immigration enforcement. They still use the same old rhetoric, saying it sends the wrong message that it is okay to come. The United States without documentation. Needless to say for the estimated 1 million young undocumented immigrants, like the Tepe's, may be able to qualify for the new temporary legal status. This program is their greatest hope to get back to a normal life. And while there is a lot to be worked out in regards to the process of applying for legal status, such as, how much the applicant will need to pay to apply, what sort of documents the applicant's will need to provide and how long the program will be offered. Of course Romney has not said what he would do if he was elected president to this program but I am pretty sure it would not be good for these young kids.

Hello, I felt compelled to send a letter in the mail and share my experience with Kretz & Romero for anyone looking for a good immigration law firm. I found Kretz & Romero strictly by the internet, when I did a Google search for an immigration attorney in the Roswell area. I was rather impressed by their dominance in the search engines and I was compelled to give them a call especially after reading their testimonial section of their website. I have only been a client of theirs since March of 2011 but have already seen great results after they processed my filing so rapidly. I had heard that the attorneys at Kretz and Romero were great on numerous occasions. I was in need of getting my green card and after talking to family and friends they had also mentioned that they thought I should go see Kretz & Romero to help me to get my green card. Then I saw them on TV and decided to give them a call. After talking to one of the attorneys I felt very comfortable hiring them to help me get my green card. All the staff at Kretz and Romero are very nice and they always answer the phone and answered all my questions. I now have my green card so I'm able to work now. I have been a client of Kretz & Romero Law P.C. for about four months. My husband got picked up by ICE in September 2012. I didn't want him to get deported because he had been deported before. I think I called about every immigration attorney I could possibly call and they all told me that they could not help me. Several people told me to call Kretz & Romero.
