Martinez Looking To Put Immigrant Drivers Licenses Back On Agenda

Governor Susana Martinez (R) tried hard last year to get the New Mexico immigrant driver license law appealed with no success. It appears she is hoping to revitalize her efforts this campaign year. The governors idiotic idea that if you make it against the law for immigrants to obtain a drivers license they simply won't drive, how naive is that? Not to mention it does not even take into account the actual numbers of drivers on our roads, it truly is a public safety issue not to account for everyone using our public roads. Polls show that New Mexicans are more concerned with jobs and the economy then the immigrant driver licenses issue. It would be nice if the Governor and her other Republican politicians would help New Mexicans out with the real issue of unemployment and not some bigoted and racist imaginary problem. As you may recall a lawsuit was filed last year halting her driver license policy and a state District court blocked it because it would be found as unconstitutional. It would be nice if our Republican politicians would actually work on something to help our citizens and drop their racist agenda.
