Rubio wants DREAM Act Legislation

Last week an upcoming politician on the Republican side, Senator Marco Rubio -FL gave a heartfelt speech about immigration at the Hispanic Leadership Network conference, which was also organized by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R). Rubio's unconventional immigration speech bashed both Republicans and Democrats for using immigration as a pawn in the political arena. He went on to say that the immigration issue is very important to Hispanics and Latinos, and called upon a compassionate solution to deal with the problem of undocumented immigration. Many believe Rubio is high on the list to be considered as a Vice President candidate for the Republicans but he may still have a tough road to get there as protesters interrupted his speech last Friday night. After the interruption Senator Rubio said. “Let me tell you guys something; these young men and women raise a very legitimate issue,” then he went on to say “They came here to a crowd that they know might not be kind to their point of view on issues. And they had the bravery and the courage to raise their voices. I thank God I’m in a country where I can do that and I want them to hear what I have to say.” And then the Senator acknowledge there is sweeping support in this country for children that were brought here by no fault of there own, and that have lived here their whole lives and want to go to college or serve in our Armed Forces that there should be a common ground from both parties to help them achieve this. Of course the Senator was talking about the DREAM Act legislation that would do just that.
