We at Kretz & Romero, P.C. are wishing you and yours a Happy New Year! Let us hope that the coming new year is more properous then last year and that Immigration Reform is resolved this coming year. We have realized much in 2009 - from coming together for family unity at the Capitol to over a thousand house parties for immigration reform across the United States to introducing the first major immigration reform bill after President Obama took office. Now, let's complete the work in 2010!

| Happy Thanksgiving! |

Thanksgiving is probably the single greatest American holiday of all the holidays. For the first thing, it was first celebrated over 100 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Thanksgiving is truly a holiday all about family reunion, remembering a past community harvest meal enjoyed by the original inhabitants of North America and the very new influx of people "immigrants" from England. Thanksgiving is truly a celebration of the first immigration on the North American continent. With thoughts on families, Thanksgiving is a very appropriate time to reflect on the future of today's immigrants, whose reunion is vulnerable by federal regulations and enforcement policies that tear families apart and still fall short to accomplish the stated goals of our nation's immigration law. Very few Americans can comprehend just how dysfunctional our immigration system is when it comes to family reunification. The majority who are mad with number of illegal immigrants in the US think that there is a well ordered process by which people seeking a life in America could enter the country, if only this were the case, but nothing could be further from the real truth. We can only hope and prey that Obama's administration will continue to work on Comprehensive Immigration Reform while protecting our borders and keeping terrorist at bay.
All of us at Kretz & Romero would like to extend our deepest admiration and graditude to the men and women of the arms services, past and present, who put their lives on the line so we all can enjoy the freedoms of this great country of ours. God Bless!

Happy Thanksgiving! Acción de Gracias es, probablemente, el único día de fiesta estadounidense más importante de todos los días de fiesta. Para lo primero, se celebró por primera vez más de 100 años antes de la firma de la Declaración de la Independencia. Acción de Gracias es verdaderamente un día de fiesta todo sobre la reagrupación familiar, el recuerdo de un pasado harina de la cosecha de la comunidad que gozan los habitantes originarios de América del Norte y la afluencia de gente muy nueva "inmigrantes" de Inglaterra. Acción de Gracias es verdaderamente una celebración de la inmigración por primera vez en el continente norteamericano. Con pensamientos sobre la familia, de Acción de Gracias es un momento muy adecuado para reflexionar sobre el futuro de los inmigrantes de hoy, cuya reunión es vulnerable por los reglamentos federales y las políticas de aplicación que separar a las familias y aún están lejos de lograr los objetivos declarados de la ley de inmigración de nuestra nación. Muy pocos estadounidenses pueden comprender cuán disfuncional de nuestro sistema de inmigración es lo que se refiere a la reagrupación familiar. La mayoría de los que están locos con el número de inmigrantes ilegales en los EE.UU. creo que hay un proceso bien ordenado por lo que las personas que buscan una vida en Estados Unidos podría entrar en el país, si este fuera el caso, pero nada más lejos de la verdad . Sólo podemos esperar y la presa que la administración de Obama continuará trabajando en la reforma integral de inmigración, mientras que la protección de nuestras fronteras y de mantenimiento de terrorismo en la bahía.

This month Kretz & Romero, P.C. will be doing a radio talk show with La Ley 95.9 FM / 1310 AM radio. The show will be every Tuesday for 1 hour from 7 am to 8 am. Everyone is invited to call the radio station and ask any immigration question you may have or any current immigration issue you may have on your mind. Both Caterina Kretz & Mary Ann Romero will be doing the shows, just alternating the Tuesdays so everyone has a chance to listen to both of these experts in their field of immigration law.

| Immigration Presentation at the University of New Mexico |

Mary Ann Romero, an immigration attorney and partner with Kretz & Romero, P.C., will providing current immigration information to students, faculty, and staff at the University of New Mexico. Ms. Romero will be covering nonimmigrant visas such as H1B, TN, J and O visas. She will also be discussing legal permanent residence eligibility as aliens of extraordinary ability, outstanding researchers, national interest waivers and labor certification. The presentation will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 2:30 PM at the LAII, located at 801 Yale on the University of New Mexico campus. All are welcomed to attend this presentation. This is an excellent opportunity to network and obtain up to date information covering the current issues in immigration law.

Jacquelyn Tarango-Castillo recently graduated in June of 2009 from ITT Technical Institute. She received a degree in Bachelors of Science in the field of Criminal Justice. Jacquelyn is fluent in English as well as Spanish. Jacquelyn has a passion for helping immigrants realize their dreams to coming to the United States of America. We are very happy to have Jacquelyn on staff at Kretz & Romero.

The Albuquerque New Mexico Immigration Lawyers of Kretz & Romero, P.C. are very happy to announce a new addition to our law firm. Alexandra Blodget comes to us from another immigration law firm located in Oregon. Alexandra acquired her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of Oregon in June of 2004. Alexandra is well versed in translation of certificates, preparing documents and immigration forms for cancellations and removals. She is also well trained in asylums, consular processing and adjustment of status. Alexandra is fluent in English as well as Spanish and she actually translated for the practicing attorney at her past firm to the clients. We are very happy and proud to have Alexandra on our team and we know she will be a true asset to our law firm in the years to come.
