Department of Homeland Security Extends the Designation of Sudan for Temporary Protected Status

The Sudan TPS has been extended to 18 months from the current expiration date of 11/2/2011 to 5/2/2013.

Individuals may re-register & extend their employment authorization document (EAD).

This only applies to individuals who have already registered for TPS under the designation of Sudan & whose applications were granted or remain pending.

United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will assign new EAD's with a 5/2/2013 expiration date, but for right now the validity of the EAD's that have already been assigned under the current TPS designation that expires on 11/2/2011 will be automatically extended through 5/2/2012.

This is the very basic information regarding TPS for Sudan. For detailed information you need to contact an immigration attorney to see how this TPS applies to your unique situation.
